Well, it’s time we explore one of the lower end lawn mowers. That’s no to say the Lawn Boy 10641 Gas Powered Lawn Mower is a low life, just lower in price. What exactly does $269 buy you these days? Well, read the rest of my review and I’ll be happy to tell you.

Well, the first thing $269 buys you is a Briggs and Stratton Gasoline engine. Man, I do love the Briggs and Stratton engines. “Why?” you ask? That’s easy. I’ve used a lot of different lawn mowers in my day and my experience tells me they start easier and last much longer than most other lawn mower engines. That’s not to say there aren’t other well made engines, it’s just that the Briggs and Stratton Lawn Mower happens to be my favorite.

Next, you get a self propelled lawn mower. A self propelled lawn mower pushes itself so you don’t have to. Just guide it down the lawn and the Lawn Boy 10641 Gas Powered Lawn Mower will do the rest of the work for you! Just be careful, the lawn mower can get away from you if you’ve never used a self propelled model before. Just make sure you have a firm grip when you use it for the first time!

Next, you get a 20” cutting area. Twenty inches is right in line with most other gas powered lawn mowers in this class and should keep your mowing times down to a minimum. If you want to reduce your yard work time by buying a larger lawn mower, that’s going to cost you about another $100. Still, 20” is plenty for most people.

There’s also the 3-in1 mulching, discharge, or bag catch option for your clippings. The mulching feature basically chews the clippings twice so they’re less noticeable if you choose not to rake up the clippings. Mulching rather than having the lawn mower spit out the clippings on the side makes it easier and faster for the clippings to break down and release nutrietnts back in to the soil. Mulching is a crucial to the success of any well manicured lawn.

Overall, this is one of the better gas powered lawn mowers you’re going to find. It might not look as cool as some of the other gas powered lawn mowers, and certainly is not as chic as any electric lawn mower, but it does what It needs to do well, namely, cut grass.
